What does the term “Super Duty” mean in the Ford truck lineup?

The term “Super Duty” refers to Ford trucks that are built with extra hard work in mind. Every trim level of the Ford F-250, Ford F-350, and Ford F-450 has a Super Duty model. The Super Duty models have a reinforced build augmented with metal alloys not available in other models. Brakes are built for extra work, as well as the cab structure, the superstructure, and the axle supports.

The Ford F-250. F-350 and F-450 models come in six trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited. Each trim includes a standard set of amenities that are included in the Super Duty models. Each trim also comes with a choice of cabs. Owners choose between a Regular cab, a Super-cab, and a Crew-cab.
